Possessive acronyms

If you use an apostrophe in posessives AND ‘-is’ contractions, how do you tell the difference?

For example, does the phrase “That company really knows it’s sh**,” mean they’re really knowledgeable about their profession, or that they have some serious self-esteem issues?

You just don’t use apostrophes like that.

“That company really knows it’s shit” = “That company is aware it is low quality”.
“That company really knows its shit” = “That company is rather knowledgeable”.

The word “its” is an exception to the rule . . .

Pronouns in general are exceptions, unless you use “your’s, hi’s, her’s, our’s, their’s, etc.”
