About six and a half years ago, I posted this question. I remembered hearing network TV stories about CB radio messages from a young boy whose father had a heart attack and crashed their truck. He was supposedly stranded in the mountains of New Mexico.
Recent googling turned up this sleuthing. To summarize: nothing definitive. Details changed a lot, possibly indicating either 1) a complete hoax, or, 2) a real incident in which the boy died before being found, but the story was kept alive for a while by copycat hoaxers.
Just thought I’d pass it along. Anyone else remember this incident?
