I am sick and tired of switching to the knife while trying to get to the pistol and getting killed. Is there any way to just loose the stupid knife that doesn’t look too much like cheating? Why can’t I just throw the damn thing away anyhow?

Um, just turn the mousewheel in the other direction. So instead of rifle>knife>pistol, you go rifle>pistol>knife.
And don’t diss the shank, man. Knife kills happen, particularly against unwary snipers. Up close, a knife wielder can cut a glock user to ribbons.
