Possibly the dumbest thing I've heard on television

I have no idea what was on. I was watching the DVR, and when my show ended I was treated to this:

“He died of smallpox.”
“I thought smallpox had been eradicated.”
“You can’t believe everything you read on the internet.”

I let it run a little longer, and when whatever show it was (which I didn’t want to know) sounded like it was going in the direction of “he got vaccinated for smallpox, and got the disease from the vaccination,” I put something else on. Anything else. Specifically, Criminal Minds, which was on a channel a few away, and also has pretty stupid science sometimes, but usually more along the applied phlebotinum type.

Serves me right for not being in bed at 1am, I suppose.

That’s the stupidest thing you heard on television? I guess you weren’t watching during the 2012 campaign.

I try to avoid that stuff. It might make me to depressed to go to the polls.

Or found yourself watching Fox News or stumbled onto a viewer call-in segment on C-SPAN.

I won’t watch any television medical, legal, or crime drama. I don’t work in any of those fields and know little about them, but it’s obvious that the writers know even less.

Hahaha, bloody hell. That host has obviously transcended into some sort of exalted zen state.

Without clicking through, is that the clip from John Oliver’s show?

Yes, yes it is.

If that’s the stupidest thing you’ve heard on TV then you’re not watching CNN. I know FOX is the easy target, but that stuff is supposed to be fiction.
