Post 80's Hair/Glam Rock

A few friends of mine set out to on the task of making a mixtape featuring Early 90’s Hair/Glam rock. Specifically, a compilition of the songs that MAY have been really bad-ass hits, if only had it not been for the problem of Nirvana and such bands gaining immense popularity around 91/92.

This has proven. . . a bit more difficult than I originally thought it would have been. I’ve found some nice tunes dating around 90/91. But come 93, it must have been an awful time to be in a hair band. Hence, the purpose of this mixtape. Digging up and preserving long forgotten fossils that VH1 hasn’t already unearthed.

Anyone out their a specialist in this sort of thing, or have any suggestions of songs or bands to look at? Tunes should certainly have been released 1990 or later. However, bonus points awarded the later into the decade one goes. And bonus points the more it *rocks the fuck off. *

I am no expert, but Nelson sure had some beautiful hair, were a hit in the 90s and they may have rocked.

The Darkness is a present-day band from England, and they are bringing the big hair, tight spandex bodysuits, wild guitar solos, screaming falsetto vocals, and FUN back to rock. They do indeed rock, albeit in a nostalgic/ironic/tongue-in-cheek way. Try to hear their single or catch their video for “I Believe In A Thing Called Love,” and it will warm your glam-loving heart.

Or, best title yet: Love On the Rocks With No Ice. Heh.
