“Direct Express Auto Transport Responds To Bad Reviews By Posting Reviewers’ Personal Information Online”, from The Consumerist:
This is so far beyond the pale I almost expect it to be a big troll, some Internet group’s wind-up (create a fake company, then get members to post both bad reviews and ‘personal information’ to various sites). But the company is real (Direct Express Auto Transport, [Address info deleted ]) and so, presumably, are the people and their personal information. This is one of those things that you’d think has to be illegal but I doubt the law has quite caught up to it yet. (It might fall under the rubric of ‘harassment’ if the law allows you to be ‘harassed’ by people you’ve never met or had physical contact with. ‘Invasion of privacy’ seems to focus on people who gain information unlawfully, not abuse information they already gained legitimately.)
So, never do business with [Address info deleted ], and they don’t know jack about me, the stupid fucks.
