His posts never seemed to make much sense, often he seemed to be just making stuff up. Whenever he was asked for a citation to back up his statements, he generally just blew that off, or got angry because someone had ‘attacked’ him. I think he was also the guy who claimed that he was disabled, and somehow that made it unfair & prejudiced to ask him for a cite to support his allegations.
It took a while, but I learned to recognize his posts and ignore them – they were closer to “ignorance” than our goal of “fighting ignorance”. I sure don’t miss him, except for the amusement factor – and that got old real fast.
handy was apparently banned for posting medical advice after being specifically forbidden from offering medical advice on this board. His posts in [thread=223724]this thread[/thread] appear to have been the last straw, maybe [post=4241038]this one[/post] in particular, but I’m not sure. The actual banning didn’t occur until a few days later.
We have never banned someone for “posting too much.” What is that, anyway? How could you do that?
Now we have counseled people for content-free postings . . . but that’s another subject altogether. If you make a lot of nonsensical posts, sure, we’re going to want to talk to you.
This board has never been happy with people who post “Me too” or “I agree” or that kind of silliness. We would prefer you have something meaningful to bring to the party. We’ve also looked unkindly on posts made only to increase post count as well, but I don’t recall ever banning someone for indulging.
