Post Office Won't Deliver Certified mail? WTF?

I sent a letter to a local politician…on Monday! I sent it via certified mail-and so far, have received no confirmation of delivery!
I have used certified mail, and usually, it is a day or so (max). Is something starnge going on?
Should I contact a pstal inspector?

If you used Certified Mail, they give you a code number to check online - is that the way you’re trying to confirm delivery? They don’t mail you a notification unless you got the Return Receipt option - you would have filled out a green postcard at the time you requested this option.

Alternately, the politician may not have picked up his mail - someone has to sign for a certified letter. He may have refused to pick it up for whatever reason.

Check online with the code number, then call if it still seems to be out for delivery.

Given that election day is 11 days away, this politician may have better things to do right now. Especially if this requires a trip to the post office between 8am-4pm.
