I use pictures of my own and usually change them every week or so.
Up until yesterday, this one was my wallpaper. Cuervo warming the boys (while he still has them!) by the fire.
Now I have Marty hiding in a box

InterfaceLift is probably my most-tapped source for desktop art. Currently running this on a 23" Cinema Display. (I’ve developed a penchant for dry, minimal desktops—makes my icons pop more.)
That would make a wonderful jigsaw puzzle! Who’s the artist?
and
**Mr Bus Guy ** - Cuervo is getting so big - what a pretty kitty he is!

Here’s mine, a photoshopped image of my living room. (Maybe someday I’ll learn how to rename links.)I see anyrose has posted a reply but if you just want to do it manually, it’s {url=“address”}name of link{/url}, with instead of {} of course. Don’t forget the quotes.
I drew me a large version ofTracer Bullett from the original Calvin and Hobbes frame.
I took a trip to the New England Aquarium a couple of days before Christmas. The first picture on this page is currently my desktop. And yes, those creatures are the primary reason I wanted to go there…they have an alien beauty to them.
Baraqiyal, is that fanart or a print ad I missed before I started watching the show?
ooo! Jellies! They’re so pretty! A bunch of years ago, on a vacation, I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium where there was a special Jellies exhibit.
This was the one I had up until last week. I now have one of the V for Vendetta backgrounds from the movie website, but I’m pondering changing it again.
I’ve got this one on my desktop. It’s my dog Padraic (on the left) and his best friend Chunk from down the street.
And this one on my laptop. I can’t help wondering how long the photographer had to wait for the light to be so perfect.
It looks like Padriac is introducing Chunk to you. Great photo of Helen, too, btw.
When I log in as myself, one of (currently) 374* image files are randomly selected as my desktop pic.
When I log in as root instead, one of a mere 6 images that mimic the default Apple background (abstract blue swirly hi-tech-looking items) are selected.
Images are added to the pile from slide scans of my Dad’s old Argus-camera pix, my own digital pix, interesting fractal / pseudoMandelbrot froth created by my screensaver, and cool astronomical pix from the Hubble telescope. Plus a few Bryce landscapes I created when I was bored.
It was an actual print ad I originally saw in TV guide. I asked around the AOL X-Files group and someone was nice enough to post the image.
I’m using the picture on this page. It’s a duck! With Einstein hair!
Here’s what I’ve been using forever (I’m hoping I’m not the only Doper who knows what it is). I’m thinking I’m due for a change, but I haven’t found anything I like better.

This may be my new background. Mmmm. Warp engines.
Bigger version of this , it’s my bike near my house.
Mine is also from Astronomy Picture of the Day.
It’s an artist’s rendition of a white dwarf star spiral
Mine is an original photo that I took on our recent trip to Paris. You can see it here.
I used Picture It! to apply the “colored pencil” effect. It looks especially cool when you “stretch” it because it looks shorter and fatter, which somehow makes it look more “artsy”.
