I’m looking for quirky and fun games to play on my iPhone or iPad.
I’ve recently enjoyed:
-Sword and Poker
-You must Build a Boat
-Blocks with Letters On Them
Any recommendations for games along those lines?

Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey is pretty fun, it’s a bit like a cross between Scrabble and an RPG where all damage is done by forming words.
I am not sure if this is my first zombie, but it’s definitely the oldest.
Some nice little Steam finds:
Castle Storm - Build a castle, with different rooms that give you different bonuses. Then create soldiers to march on the other castle and pound it with catapaults while they do the same to you. Tons of levels and upgrades to unlock and the games go by quick but are fast paced and fun. A little step above simple time wasters like Crush the Castle or Angry Birds.
Sunless Sea - sort of a top down, vector graphics (green lines) version of Pirates. Sail from port to port in your ship (upgradable) on a randomly generated world map. Game focuses is on exploration and somewhat repetitive tasks, is pretty slow paced but fun and relaxing. Not for everyone but if the concept sounds appealing, it’s definitely recommended.
Sunless Sea vector graphics? Are you playing a different version than this? http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/gg81cejjxcd9mkgivyph.jpg
Sorry it’s been a while and all I really remembered about the graphics was green and black, so I started thinking of it as having almost a vector graphics look.
In the six years since the OP, the indie games scene has exploded dramatically. At this point, I would have a harder time naming games I like from big name developers than ‘indies’. When games from small indie studios are regularly topping the sales charts and are often the most talked about I’m not sure ‘indie’ is a particularly useful label anymore.
I agree that it’s a cool little game.
