Post your favorite "non-musical" movie themes

All About Eve’s theme is extremely jaunty, matching the tone of the movie perfectly:

I love this song! Thank you!

Great one! :+1:

This has got to be one of the most beautiful movie themes ever, though it was not written for the film. The title is “Jealous Lover,” and it dates from 1949.

I saw this movie with my dad when I was five years old. I didn’t really understand it then, but I loved the part where Jack Lemmon strained his spaghetti on a tennis racket.

The opening song from The Magic Christian: “Carry On” by Badfinger

Taking of Pelham 123. Love that movie and love that song!

My husband is enjoying this thread along with me and insists I add this song even though Bond is already over represented.

Go a little obscure here

Hate to double post but there’s a thread about The Sting right under this one and I remember being, like, 7 and teaching myself the melody on my tiny Casio keyboard. I was so proud of myself!

This is my favorite and you can’t have it!

What’s the matter with everybody? How many hijacked trains we got around here, anyway?

It is kind of like a day at the movies, innit? I’m surprised nobody’s posted this one yet:

For Biggirl, 'cause it has words!

My husband on hearing the opening notes. “Perry Como? Andy Williams?” Was thoroughly disappointed at generic movie theme chorus.

P.S. It was Andy Williams he was thinking of.

Another one I think is beautiful. In high school, I was in a production of Arsenic and Old Lace, and an instrumental version was played over the PA as the overture:

No connection between the two, but it did set a good mood.

You remind me of more great Mancini (also Hepburn too):

Poseidon Adventure and Hindenburg scored arnt too shabby either

Sorry about that, Chief.

I don’t record 'em, I just post 'em. :frowning:

What’s the one about the shark called? It’s right on the tip of my tongue.
