Post your favorite sports trivia question

He was also the guy that the Phillies traded to St. Louis for Steve Carlton.

Perhaps the worst trade in Cardinals history.

They made up for it with Lou Brock.

I thought it would be more fun to see if someone knows the answer to this, rather than Googling.

In the very first year MLB instituted intra-league playoffs, 1969, the World Series MVP (Donn Clendenon) didn’t play at all in the NLCS. Has that happened since?

I’m going to say yes, but solely because you asked it. I have no clue of the year or who that might have been.

Corey Seager won in 2023 and he didn’t play in the NLCS. (Of course, he played in the ALCS…)

I didn’t know the answer when I posted, but I did the scut work.

Yes, Clendenon was the only one. Jorge Soler may have come closest, having only two pinch-hitting appearances in the 2021 NLCS. He had been on the Covid injured list that postseason.

And now it’s my new favorite sports trivia question. (Phrased as LCS, thank you Mr. Munch.) Has anyone besides Corey Seager won World Series MVP in both leagues?

I didn’t know the answer to this, but I googled it, so I’ll refrain from answering.

More of an interesting factoid than a true trivia question, but what is % of NBA players from all time has Lebron played against?

34%

Which is absolutely wild to me.

LeBron James’ all-time worst record against a single opponent is 0-5.

He never once defeated T.J. Leaf.

I never beat him either. Me and LeBron are so much alike!

@Gatopescado You never even tried to step up to my man, former Pacer T.J. Leaf; you’re too much of a coward.

That’s a Fair Cop!

There are five pitchers who have started the MLB all-star game for both leagues. Name them.

Vida Blue

Roger Clemens

Randy Johnson

Roy Halladay

Max Scherzer
