How about William & Mary?

That won’t do.

William and Mary Tribe is one of smaller schools that fits the bill. Last I looked, I think there is only one more that hasn’t been mentioned.

Here are all of the ones I could find in Division I:

Alabama Crimson Tide
Bucknell Bison
Cornell Big Red
Dartmouth Big Green
Elon Phoenix
Green Bay Phoenix
Harvard Crimson
Hofstra Pride
Howard Bison
Illinois Fighting Illini
Long Beach State Beach
Marshall Thundering Herd

North Carolina State Wolfpack
North Dakota State Bison
North Texas Mean Green
Northern Kentucky Norse
Notre Dame Fighting Irish

How many NFL championships do the Minnesota Vikings have?

One. Although they lost 4 Superbowls, the Vikings were NFL champs in 1969, the last before the NFL-AFL merger. Packer fans are especially vulnerable to this question.

That’s a good one. I wasn’t aware of how many they’d won one before the Super Bowl era, but I’m not real knowledgeable about that period. But the word “championships” instead of “Super Bowls” was the giveaway that it wasn’t zero.

I’ll hide the clarification…No, that was the Superbowl era. They were NFL champs, but lost Superbowl IV to AFL champs Kansas City 23-7.

Oh, tricky!

There are four quarterbacks who have defeated all current 32 NFL teams. Who are these four? (Obviously, these are QBs who have played for more than one team.)

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Drew Brees

I like this one. It is easy to guess, and that will attract more people to try to answer. Getting people to engage in sports trivia interchange is helped by questions the average fan has a chance of answering right.

Well I didn’t think you would be so cruel.

Ouch.

I was totally not surprised by the answer.

Probably too easy a question, but I couldn’t think of the answer, and enjoyed it, when it was put to me:

What are the only four days (arguably three) of the calendar year in which none of the four major U.S. sports are played?

I believe the answer is two: the days before and after the MLB all-star game.

OK, there are five NFL quarterbacks that have defeated 31, but not 32, of the current NFL teams. Who are they?

Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson, and Kerry Collins.

ETA: Patrick Mahomes has defeated 30 NFL teams. He can make it 31 this Sunday if he quarterbacks the Chiefs to a victory over the Vikings.

You are correct, but there is one day off before and two days off after the All-Star game. Four days is arguable because the All-Star game could be considered “playing,” though not an official game.

Dang, I was way off. Who did these guys not beat:

Eli Manning
Philip Rivers
Troy Aikman
Steve Young
Dan Marino

And I got the 32 teams one, but only after swapping out Montana at the last second. Who’d he miss?

Some of these guys didn’t play when there were 32 teams in the league.

Eli Manning (defeated 29 teams): Chargers, Colts, Giants
Philip Rivers (29): Panthers, Saints, Chargers
Troy Aikman (29): Cowboys, Ravens
Steve Young (25): Browns, Jaguars, Chiefs, Ravens, Seahawks, 49ers
Dan Marino (28): Jaguars, Dolphins, Giants

Montana defeated all 28 teams that were in the league when he played.

This information is according to pro-football reference.

The Texans, Panthers and Jaguars didn’t exist when those guys played.
