Obviously the mods can give you the yes or no on that, but keep in mind PMs can be reported and there’s nothing stopping anyone from posting your PM to them on the public board. It’s ‘private’ in name only.

I know emotions are running high right now, but let’s keep the comments about the election out of ATMB. For those, there’s the Elections forum, or the Pit, if you prefer.
Private Messages haven’t been regulated historically on the SDMB since we previously had no way of seeing anything that was sent in a PM. These days, if someone reports a PM, we get a copy of the PM as it was sent and now can act on it. The overall rule of “don’t be a jerk” is applicable.
I’d suggest that it would be better to make liberal use of the ignore feature. Few people who regularly contribute here beyond sniping actually supported Trump, so I would assume you could easily ignore these people without having to lose out on any conservative viewpoints or the like, or worry about conversations not making sense.
Yeah, having a place where you could tell them “fuck you” would be nice. Og knows I’ve wanted to (and actually did once before the PMs were moderated). But I think it’s probably better to not let them in your head.
And, if you need to say something, there are plenty of vocabulary words to get you around the language restrictions in the Pit. And you know that they will be in there, looking for people to attack.

Didn’t we discuss this in an ATMB thread recently and wasn’t the ruling that non-Pit rules apply to PMs? I could be wrong, but somehow that is my recollection.

May I suggest the more cromulent and amusing alternative of “Trump you!” instead? It’s really quite an amazingly useful substitute and perfectly stands in for all of the F-word’s various uses.
