Potential Illinois Democratic primary battle: Newman vs Casten

In case you haven’t been following the Illinois congressional redistricting process, the latest map will hurt Marie Newman.

Newman has already announced that rather than face Chuy Garcia, she’ll go up against Sean Casten in the new Illinois 6th district.

Should prove to be a very hot primary. Newman is known for knocking off conservative Dem Dan Lipinski in 2020 and then winning the seat in November.

I’ll be supporting Sean Casten in this primary. Casten is well known for his work on climate change.

Marie Newman is part of Justice Democrats and is loudly pro Palestinian and anti Israeli. She was one of the votes against Iron Dome.

Newman definitely enjoined the anti semitic wing of the Justice Democrats.
