i have replaced my powersteering hose by a remanufactured one ,i have filled the ps oil done almost everything but now my problem is when i stop the car and turn the wheels to the right or left side there is a snoring noise . can you please help me ?
It’s hard to tell what the noise is from a couple of lines on a message board, but a noise like that is a common symptom of the power steering fluid being low. The first thing I would do (if you haven’t done so already) is check the fluid level again as it will have dropped somewhat since you added it due to the pump pushing fluid through the system and displacing the air that was in there.
If there is still air stuck in the system, try revving up the engine a bit and turning the wheel all the way to the left and all the way to the right a few times while keeping the engine revving. That will usually force all of the air out of it. (ETA) You may need to add fluid again once this is done, as above.
Are you sure you used the right type of fluid for your car?.
What is the make, model, and year of the car?
I’ve been fixing cars professionally for darn near 40 years and NEVER heard of a reman power steering hose, or reman hose of any kind for that matter.
engineer-etc. is right, it’s necessary to bleed the air out of the power steering system. Turning to full lock and holding it there for a few seconds, first to one side then to the other, back and forth until it’s quiet and the fluid level is stabilized, should do it. As mentioned, check and top up the fluid level often during this procedure. Don’t do it with the car sitting still on the ground lest you wear a flat spot on the front tires – either lift the front of the car off the ground or drive it around in a parking lot or somesuch.
