IMHO, and not trying to start a “Great Debate” (wink, wink): This is a consulation thread for those whose spirit and faith in 51% of the American people has been crushed. To those that don’t understand, this loss is of a much serious matter than say…if the Red Sox would have lost the 2004 World Series after so much.
Now then (ahem, I clear my throat): Although it will be very hard to trudge through the next two years, the pendulum shall slowly swing back from the far right and move towards the middle once more. I predict in 2006, we shall a major overturn in Congress. Democrats shall rebound from this flagrant demonstration of rash judgment by the people. Perhaps they want a GOP Pres., but word on the street by both parties is that they want a better-balanced Congress to keep him in check.
Unfortunately, cumulative damage will be done by a total of six years of runaway mismanagement, but we shall endure. We shall hunker down, watch, and wait. We shall continue to count the sins of this far-gone Right-winged Administration. And then, the pendulum will gain momentum ushering in a new movement in the USA in 2006 when people will be proud to oust the first of the extreme rightists.
And a new day will dawn when people, long after this political dust has settled, will finally cling to the truth about the shape of our tattered and torn nation and its neglected people, its collective soul.
Yeah, I’ll simmer down for now. But, we’re lurking in the wings and hallways…
Unfortunately, life is too short. I thought we learned something (esp. FL) from the last election. Sigh. And, so I morn, donning a black arm band, for an America I once held out hope for until 11/02/04.
