Prayers/Wishes for Bluesman, Chief Scott, and all military Dopers

My very best wishes to the men and women, and their families, of our armed forces. This will sound odd coming from a confirmed agnostic, but…God bless you.

Give 'em Hell, old chaps!

I don’t know what to say to the military personnel except this:

Good luck, Godspeed, and I thank you more than words can say. I am extremely proud of each and every one of you. Come home safely.

I have a couple of friends in the reserves (one is Army, one Navy) and I am praying for them and for all of you and your fellow soldiers.

I thought I’d bring this back up now that the combat phase of the war on terrorism has begun.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for your service. Good luck and Godspeed as you carry out your missions. A grateful free world is behind you, whether you are in the American and British forces in use today or in one of the allied militaries yet to engage.

Good idea, manhattan.

Thanks to all of you. May God watch over you in all the dark places you must walk.

I could never express it better than manny and Arden Range.

My thoughts are with y’all.

Well, thanks. I’ve still got a while before I have a chance to get sent to do anything, as I’m a spankin’ new LT, who hasn’t even gone to OBC yet. So, it’ll be at least 6-9 months before I see any action.

Godspeed and safe journey all our active military Dopers from a newly-retired ('99) airman. I was very appreciative of our country supporting us during the Gulf War, and I will keep the faith with my brothers and sisters still in uniform. I would go again, in a heartbeat, if they asked me, but it looks as though I’m on the sidelines for this one. All my prayers go out with you, from one who has seen active combat duty, I know you’ll all dig deep and find it in you to go the distance.

Rock steady and give 'em hell, guys. Payback is a bitch, and now they will face the eagle’s talons again. I hope you get the chance to finish the job that we should’ve done ten years ago. Keep the faith. I salute you.

Duty, Honor, Country

*My heartfelt thanks to all our military Dopers as this conflict gets underway. I can’t say anything more eloquent than what’s already been said here. May you all return safely and able to say, “mission accomplished.”

Jeg elsker dig, Thomas

All my prayers and best wishes go out to all of the wonderful men and women who are fighting the good fight for all of the rest of us.

I don’t think this country has ever been so solidly behind you as it is today. Which is as it should be. I went to the Mariner’s game yesterday, and was standing in line to buy food when the lady sang “God Bless America” and “The Star Spangled Banner.” Every person there, including the cooks and waitpersons, stopped what they were doing and turned to the TV monitor. It made me cry, I was so touched and proud. I also felt embarrassed, until I turned and saw that the lady next to me was crying also. When the songs had ended, she turned to me and we hugged each other. Total strangers.

I am so proud to be an American, and so VERY proud of the men and women in our armed forces, and those of the other wonderful countries who stand with us in this fight.

I will do my humble best to support you all in any way I can. You are my heroes.

Much Love.

Cheri

God bless, and come home safely…

I’ve always been there, and always will be. You are the rock American stands on, the protector of the innocent and the defender of the weak.

I used to have a quote around here somewhere, and I can’t remember who or what it is from, but it goes something like this:

One man boasts: “I would go to the gates of Hell for a friend.”

Another turns and quietly says: “I would go in.”
You (the military) are entering the gates of Hell for my sake, and I can think of no proper way to express my gratitude. Bless you and may you all return home safe and sound.

To all, Dopers or lurkers, who are going to fight the Taliban, al-Qaeda, ObL, and any other terrorist organization:

Thank you for putting your lives on the line for us. I send you positive vibes and best wishes for success. May God, Allah, or whatever you want to call your higher power go with you, sustain you, help you to overcome the evil you fight, and bring you back safe to your friends and loved ones.

Thank you, one and all. Even to those who are not part of this community to read this message, I have deep gratitude and respect for all of you, for every single man and woman in every branch.

And for military dopers, thanks for enlightening me and offering your perspective on so many issues on these boards. You have fought ignorance.

Thank you.

I just wanted to add my deepest thanks to every single man and woman serving in our armed forces. The knowledge that our fighters are equipped with some of the finest hardware on earth is one of the only things that helps to ease my concern for your well being. I wish all of you every success in eliminating this dire threat to civilized society for once and all. If you are able to do this, words will not exist to describe your positive contribution to all humanity.
