I just talked to the operator at the hospital. ( Hey, I know it’s late, but Beth is a friend, and I’ve been tossing and turning worrying). Emma is still doing well. I’m gonna talk to Beth tomorrow, and I will update y’all. Let me add my $.02 to this thread.
Beth, you know I love you as a dear friend and someone who is always there to talk to me when I need it. Emma is going to be the light of your life. I rejoyce in that with you.
On a side note, Stephen, the father, is a Buddist. Beth is a Witch, which is why I asked for spells in the OP, but what does one ask for a Buddist? Chants? I want to know. I respect and revel in every religion, but I want to do it right, y’know?
I wish her the best! My wife is stressing now with her problematic pragnancy, so we can sorta relate. We are fearful of a premmie birth ourselves.

Hey! I just spoke to Bethie’s Baby Daddy and both the EvilMommy and Baby Emma are doing fine. Steven said that the doctors were very pleased with how Emma did overnight and that they got to see her this morning. (All together now…awwwwwwwwww) When I spoke to Beth yesterday she seemed in good spirits (insert obligatory considering the circumstances) and Steven says that they are considering letting her out of the hospital this morning.
(Here is where I ramble on and on about how the milk pumping and poopy situation are going.)
For all of those who volunteered help, let me talk to Steven and see what they could need. I heard some mention of Cadburys yesterday…
I know that all of your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated by Beth, Steven and the rest of the family.
j/k. Just got off the phone. Beth is doing fine, and Emma has now passed the mystic 72 hour mark, WhooHoo! I read Beth this thread. A couple of notes:
Cranky: Beth says they have everything they need, but she apreciates the offer of co-ordinating stuff. Anyone wants to send cards and gifts and stuff, contact me, I’ll get them to her. Beth apreciates and welcomes continued good wishes and prayers.
Tuckerfan: Her exact response-" Well, it’s not like it was a huge field to be the coolist in, was it? "
Everyone else: Beth says thanks so much for the thoughts, Her mom has a picture of Emma, and if she e-mails it to me, I’ll post it for everyone.

Oh, and Emma is up to exactly a pound now. (yay!) She DOES have cutsie wootsie teeny tiny toes, but from taking to Beth, big feet. I mean BIG. Beth gave the impression that 8oz of the 1 lb is feet. Prolly not that much, but BIG I tell ya, BIG!

I propose the OKIDoper RoadTrippers stop at the Castleton mall in Indy and get a Make-A-Bear for Emma… or maybe a fuzzy-wuzzy beanie baby of some sort.

I don’t really know you, evilbeth but real life doesn’t come any more serious than this and I just hope things stay on the right track for you and Emma. Positive vibes to you at this very scary time…phew…I wish you the very, very best outcome from this.

Beth, Emma, & Stephen, my best thoughts, hopes, and prayers for y’all. Several friends have had preemies in the past year, and they’re beautiful and hearty today. I’m sure sweet Emma will blossom as well.
Weirddave: as to what prayers are said for whatever particular inclination; A prayer is a prayer is a prayer. As long as it comes from the rose of your heart, it’ll suffice.

I talked to Beth earlier tonight, she’s been home since last night. She’s still recovering from the surgery, but is doing OK. She’s not able to sit at the computer yet, but is spending her time in a recliner and Steven is taking care of her. ( Imagine that! A little thing like emergency surgery, a child very premature and at risk, and she gets waited on hand and foot! Some people have all the luck! (Tongue burried very, very far in cheek )) Emma has been stable for 36 hours, and a brain scan was…jeeze, I can’t remember the term…class 1?? Basically “normal”…for a baby that premature. A good thing, in any event. Beth says she should be able to post here tomorrow or the next day, and promises to give all the gory details in Technicolor™. Things are going good, in other words. Keep the mojo coming, folks, it’s working!
