Pre-crisis Earth-2: Did the Joker outlive Batman?

It’s my understanding that the pre-crisis Earth-2 Batman died. Was the corresponding Joker still alive? Did Earth-2 Joker die before being retconned out of existence by the Crisis On Infinite Earths?

According to DC’s Wiki…they don’t know. Either he died of old age in prison, or blinked out of existence with the rest of the planet.

He definitely outlived Batman. In The Brave and the Bold # 200, the story is an “old foe” (newly invented for that very issue) of the Earth-2 Batman wakes up from a decades-long coma to discover that Batman died at the hands of another, and one of the people he speaks to is an aged Earth-2 Joker. (After leaving the hospital, he mentally takes over the body of his Earth-1 counterpart, who is an upstanding citizen, in order to get his revenge-by-proxy on Earth-1 Batman.)

I guess the editors of DC’s wiki overlooked that scene.

I guess I was unclear. When I said they didn’t know, it was only about when the Earth-2 Joker died, not whether he died before or after Earth-2 Batman. They definitely have him dying long after Bat-2.

The DC Wikia page (which I assume is edited by obsessed nerds even more extreme than the ones here) says the Earth-2 Joker’s was never depicted or referenced, leaving the assumption that he disappeared along with Earth-2 during the Crisis.

It does not, however, mention his cameo in Brave and Bold #200, and I’m thinking about adding it.

Nicholas Lucien, a.k.a. “Brimstone”

His death, his death was never depicted or referenced. Somebody’s been stealing my nouns.

Gosh, Batman! What kind of fiend would steal parts of speech?
That’s . . . a good question, old chum; I fear it can mean only . . . one . . . thing.

Thanks! A definitive answer, which I wasn’t sure was possible.
