I bought a microwave cheesburger and have just cooked it. Then I opened the Well sealed packaging, saw a suspicious gap where there is bottom bun, and top bun, but no burger. I took the ‘lid’ off and found a suspiciously curved gap in the burger. There is little doubt that someone has bitten the burger (remember - the pack was well sealed, it’s not as if someone had opened it in the shop)
Now I am debating with myself weither to eat around the bite, or throw the whole thing away. I have been half put-off by the sight of the bite, and am not quite hungry enough to eat it, and too hungry to throw it away. damn stupid indecisive brain!
Fuck me I wouldn’t touch it. Take it straight back to the shop with its packaging, explain what happened, and insist on a full refund and/or replacement product.
You’re thinking of a human eating this thing. What if it was rats?
Well rats don’t have mouths the size of human’s mouths (at least most rats don’t)
I threw it away in the end. I don’t think I’ll bother with complaining. It’s not in my nature. I posted it in the SDMB because we share these experiences.
And, must be some kind of record - to get both extremes of the opinion scale in only two replies. or is that normal here?
Sometimes, if a thread hangs around long enough, you will even get both extremes of the opinion scale from the same poster. It could even be me. It has happened. Sometimes information given has changed my opinion. Well, never in just two replies, but after all…everyone has an opinion, and there are bound to be people with completely opposite opinions hanging around at any given time.
Oh, and as to the OP…I would have thrown it away too, and I wouldn’t have complained to the store. As you said…not in MY nature either. But I probably wouldn’t buy that brand again.
Too bad you`re not in America - you could sue the store, the manufacturers, the people who made the bag and anyone else you could think of for emotional pain and suffering, psychological trauma, and general weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Even if complaining to the store is not in your nature, you might consider writing a letter to the company that made the burger. For one thing, they tend to be appreciative if you tell them about a potential problem with their products. For another, if they’re feeling generous, you might get some coupons or freebies out of the deal.
