"Predator" completely pointless observation

So, I get a copy of Arnold Shwarzenegger’s “Predator” on dvd since I haven’t seen this movie in years.
As most DVDs do, they have the original theatrical trailer for the film included.
The voice over for the trailer tells the summary of the story and concludes with the line:
“and now, Arnold Shwarzenegger must become… The Predator.”

So, Arnold is the Predator. Not the alien. Makes sense since at the end of the movie Arnold snaps into action and becomes predator making the alien his prey.

This would mean that this whole Alien vs. Predator thing is a sham. It should be Alien vs. Alien. If not then Arnold should be fighting the “Alien” aliens.

(I told you this was pointless)

I have aan observation on the same film!

When you see it as a kid, it’s cool. Watch it now, and it’s lame. ymmv.

I think it just means AH-nold turned the tables on the predator and becamse one himself. Alien Vs. Predator still stands.

Was it done by that gruff 80s voiceover guy?

I watched Predator about 2 weeks ago. Still stands up as one of the best action films of the 80s IMO, and ties with Total Recall for best Arnie film.

Total Recall beats Conan? In what insane topsy-turvy world are you living berserker?

You’ve a lot to learn young Jedi. The Milius/Schwarzenegger commentary’s well funny however. Total Recall’s the tits. Running Man’s dated bigtime though.

And Predator features the first appearance of the notorious Minigun Voting Machine! Jesse Ventura uses it in Predator and gets elected Governor of Minnesota. Arnie uses the same prop gun in a subsequent movie (Terminator 2 IIRC) and gets elected Governator of California. Who’s next?

That’s funny!!

Carl Weathers, for he used the gun in Predator as well. Comedy Central did a bit on this after the Governator’s election.

No, I don’t think Carl used the minigun at all. It was the bald black guy who picked it up and ran it out of ammo.

I saw the film a few months back. It struck me that if you had told me when the film was released that two of the actors were going to become governors, I would not have believed you and certainly would not have picked those two.

Doh! You’re right. It was Bill Duke, playing Sgt “Mac” Eliot.
