Predict The Unpredictable 2020

2020 will be remembered for an Olympics, some Mars missions and the usual political machinations.

But just as likely it will be remembered for things we could not predict - possibly good things as well as bad. So let’s try - Nostradamus style!

I’ll start:

There will be an uprising in large parts of China, which they will try to put down using force. The ending will still be unclear by the end of 2020.

The Queen will pass away a few months after her husband who will die in February.

There will be a meme featuring a video of a pop star.

There will be a deadly volcanic event in central Africa (I hope not though)

A man with a hat will perform a public act of self-sacrifice.

I think Prince Philip will probably pass away, but the Queen herself will linger a few more years.

I think the LSU/Clemson college football championship game will not be close- LSU will wallop Clemson, although maybe not as dramatically as Oklahoma.

I bet a major hurricane will hit somewhere on the US Gulf or Atlantic coast.

I think we’ll see something interesting happen in China domestically. Maybe not an uprising per-se, but something may happen.

The Raptors won’t repeat.

The Nationals won’t repeat.

The Patriots won’t repeat.

Trump won’t repeat.

Based on my Rene Auberjonois post in CS, I think I could predict some celeb deaths by mentioning how they are the sole surviving major cast member of certain films.

But that would be wrong.

People will be born and will die.
Political stuff will happen.
Terrible disasters will befall.
Scandals will make headlines.
Stuff will fall from the sky.
Sea levels will continue rising.
Bullshit will be promulgated.
Tweetstorms will erupt.
Volcanoes will erupt.
Pimples will erupt.
Protesters will disrupt.
Firms will go bankrupt.
Preachers will interrupt.
Waterfowl will migrate.
Ocean pollution will spread.
Incels will masturbate.
Squirrels will chase.
Luna will explode.
I’ll avoid surgery.
I forget the rest.

The inflation rate jumps between 6 and 10 percent

Yoko Ono will release a new album of her own songs in her own voice and some of it will actually sound like music.

2020 will be the year of the Great American Snappage.

Twitter will be used to lure hundreds of people to a phony event for purposes of a mass murder.

CNN, MSNBC and possibly the broadcast networks will stop covering Trump rallies at some point. Many TV campaign ads will be refused airtime.

One or more of Warren, Sanders, Pelosi and Trump will be physically attacked and possibly killed.

If Biden is the Dem nominee, enough snowflakes in places where it matters will refuse to vote for him, throwing the election to Trump, assuming it takes place and he does not disrobe during one of the debates. Civil disturbances will be instigated in swing states and the National Guard will be deployed there and used for voter suppression.

Following the election, a consortium of billionaires using a straw corp. will buy Twitter and shut it down.

The Earth is destroyed by a passing strangelet.

ABBA will reunite. (yeah there’s hope, there have been rumors of new recorded songs for some time now, and maybe by releasing them they are pushed to make a stage comeback. One can hope ;))

Brexit proves to be a disaster, the pound drops, and there’s threats of all sort of tit for tat restrictions between the EU and the UK.

A tornado will strike the heart of a major Midwestern city. Loss of life will be relatively small but property damage will reach the tens of millions.

One of the major lottery games will reach a jackpot of one billion dollars. More than a dozen different people will choose the winning numbers and split the payout.

Things will end very, very badly for the Hong Kong protestors.

If Trump is not removed from office, Biden will be elected in November. If Trump is removed from office, Pence will be re-elected in November.

There will be a major “home-grown” terrorist attack in the U.S.

That will later be determined to be a false flag operation.

President Chump will be caught in bed with both a dead girl and a live boy.

Google will be bought by a nice consortium of companies with vague names, all of which are owned by the Chinese government.
It will be the end of free speech on the web.

(on edit: oops, the OP asks for predictions that will happen during the year 2020. My prediction is about the decade of the 20’s.)

After a third inconclusive round of elections, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will resign his position and retire from political life in return for a full pardon.

We are far closer to the opposite situation due to a liquidity trap. Much more similar to what happened in Japan for the (poorly named) “lost decade” there. (More like 20+ years.) There interest rates actually went negative near the end. 6% inflation would have been better for them than what happened.
