Just wanted to get my prediction posted.
Probably? More so if anything given that killing one obviously awful guy to widespread public acclaim is far, far less reprehensible than being a serial killer or spree shooter. Those two aren’t really a good comparison, to be honest.
“All the girls wanna know. Who’s the hottest on death row?” – Kids in the Hall skit from decades ago.
That is the most obvious take in the world. Congratulations though.
In other breaking news, there will be a sunrise tomorrow.
I never cease to be surprised and depressed by the world we live in.
I evidently belong in the “I just realized I am old” thread. Reading the screenshot @Der_Trihs posted …
- I don’t know what app / site that is a screenshot of.
- I don’t know what “fic” means. Evidently a noun.
- I don’t know what “Ao3” is.
- I don’t know what “Raid Shadow Legends” are
- I don’t know what “Assassin/Reader” is or how it may relate (or not) to “UnitedHealthCare Assassin”. The latter of which I think is referring to the guy who shot Thompson and has now been arrested.
- I don’t know what AU refers to in “Harry Potter AU”. FTR I do know what Harry Potter is.
- I don’t know what “OMEGAVERSE” is.
- I don’t know what “HOMESTUCK” means or why it would be allcaps.
- I don’t know who what Dirk Strider is. I know Betty Crocker the fake cookbook maven, but I doubt this is her.
So overall, despite understanding most of the words I have exactly zero idea what that person “foone” was talking about or trying to say.
Too old; just shoot me.
And to be fair, I’m guessing that the vast majority of these are ironically done for laughs. The number of sincere ones isn’t zero, mind you, but I think the vast majority.
If you really want to know, I can try to explain.
Not particularly; I was just ranting at clouds.
Thanks for the kind offer though. This is already hijack enough.
Two days ago there were already women posting the meme about 13 Reasons Why, the “it was that smile, that smile that did it for me.”
In order:
Short for “fan fiction”, “fanfic”, or sometimes “amateur fiction”.
"Archive of Our Own, a popular fanfic site.
I don’t know what Raid Shadow Legends is, either. I just know people mock it.
A story about a relationship between the assassin and the reader.
AU means “alternate universe”.
“Omegaverse” is a kink setting where humans follow the bad-science “Alpha, Beta, Omega” social hierarchy falsely attributed to wolves. I don’t really know the details as it’s not my kink.
Homestuck is some kind of webfiction…thing that was big some years ago, but I never paid attention to so I can’t give details.
Ugh the ceo was probably not a good person, but this guy shot him, in the back, on a public sreet. Not good boyfriend or even, fwb material in my opinion. Gak!
Heh.
“I’ll only date a guy who murders people in private, like a civilized person.”
Google says it’s a role-playing game (RPG for the cool hip kids).
Thank you.
And Happy birthday to you
etc.
A mobile game with microtransactions, to further explain why it’s so mocked (it being that kind of game also means it runs lots of annoying ads and paid sponsorships across the internet, which makes it even worse).
That explains why I didn’t recognize anything but the name, that sort of thing is an instant no-sell for me. Plus I use an adblocker.
Ah, I see. I haven’t dabbled in RPGs since modding a couple on a long-defunct message board. Clearly I’m way out of date on such things.
