Pregnant/New Parent Dopers: check-in

I don’t think we’ve had one of these threads in awhile.

We seem to have had a rash of new pregnancies pop up! So I figured I’d start another thread for us!

My Bennett is now 6 1/2 months old  . We just went in for his 6 month appointment today, and he’s doing GREAT - ahead of the curve both verbally and physically, and right on target for weight and height. He spent most of his appointment flirting with the nurses, and when I was talking to his ped, he kept staring at her until she looked at him, at which point, he’d give her a HUGE smile - like this:  .

He’s mastered rolling all over the place, can sit up for short periods of time unassisted, and he mimics us saying ‘hi’ and ‘hey’! I thought I was hearing things, but now both my MIL and my mom have said they heard him say both. I’m sure he has no idea what he’s saying, but it’s still fun to hear him say them. He also rocks on all fours, and pushes himself forward with his knees. Not quite crawling, but damn close.

He’s become FASCINATED with our two cats, who are being extremely patient about letting him ‘pet’ them. If he sees them while he’s eating, we have to wait until they leave the room before he’ll go back to eating.

He loves music. He especially loves music from the Broadway production of The Wedding Singer and “Always Look On the Bright Side” from Spamalot. He also loves the Wiggles (he gets to watch about 5 minutes of them, once a week), and if he hears Rachael Ray’s voice on the television, he twists around until he can see her.

He’s a total joy and I absolutely love every second with him, even when he’s up at 3 AM to play :D.

I was part of the rash of pregnancy threads…or I have a rash? and a pregnancy? maybe…

We are 15 some weeks along, our first baby. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. Plus I am ready to be a stay at home dad. Woo Hoo!

Brendon

I am due on Easter Sunday, so that makes it about 5 more weeks, I guess? I am getting pretty big & awkward, but overall feel pretty good. The baby is a very very active one…always jabbing me in the ribs! My only real complaint is that sleeping is getting difficult, because my nasal membranes get quite swollen when I am pregnant, and I snore and wake up a lot at night from it. But, been going for weekly checkups and non-stress tests, and everything is looking really good!

I just took a home test on Monday and made two lines appear.
The baby is due in early November, according to the online calculator.

This is kid number two for the mister and me. Our first bundle of joy will be seven this May.

Elza B, Bennett is incredibly adorable!

And what a charmer!

I’m 14 weeks pregnant with our first, due August 28 (less than 6 months now! Yikes!). Feeling pretty good so far – only a touch of morning sickness, and that’s pretty much over. I’m now in the “hungry all the time” phase, which is significantly more enjoyable!

We got to hear the heartbeat a couple of weeks ago, and could hear him or her moving and doing flips, too! That was so cool. If the bean cooperates, we should find out the gender right before Easter, so that should be exciting.

Now we just have to get our act together in terms of making room for a small person, and figure out a new home for the litterbox…

Here’s my 11 month old Susie.

She’s crawling all over the place and is a very happy baby. She was 5 lbs. 6 oz. when she was born, so she’s not steady enough to walk, but if we stand her up at her learning table, she’s stable enough to cruise! I cried when I saw that last week.

She’s already a little feisty. She yelled at me when I told her “no” one too many times. It was the cutest thing I’d even seen. She even yelled at her babysitter. She took her binky out, said “Bah ah dah ah dah!” and put the binky back in her mouth.

She loves The Wiggles and (Og help me) The Doodlebops. She says “dada”, which she calls everyone. Every time I try to teach her “mama”, she says “dada”. She’s good at trying to repeat other words, but “mama” isn’t one of them.

My husband tried to get her to say “yummo” like that vile Rachel Ray. I shot him the look of death and said, “Don’t. You. EVER! Try. That. Again!!”

Congrats to all the new preggos!
