So it’s common knowledge the studio as well as other folks who have a percentage of a movie get paid based on box office reciepts. I’m pretty sure they get a take of the DVD sales and as well.
What about showings on premium movie channels? I know that channels like HBO might show a particular movie 20 times over the course of a month. Do the people who own a percentage of a movie get paid each time it shows? Does HBO just pay a single “volume use” fee for a set period of time and the cut comes from that?
