Preserving Palm Pilot Calendar

I bought a Palm Pilot in 1999 and, through several upgrades, have used it ever since. I still use a Palm TX and I’m very satisfied with it. The Palm OS was purchased by a Japanese company that changed some things, but is basically keeping it alive for us diehards. BUT I know it will not live forever.

Is there any way to migrate the Palm desktop calendar to another calendar app on my computer (Windows 7)? It’s not all that important to have access to the calendar on a handheld device (my phone is a Blackberry). That would be nice, but I’ll settle for a good desktop calendar that can accept the Palm data. I have a lengthy history in my Palm calendar of not just appointments, but events and other data that I’d like to continue to have access to. I also have it set up with many recurring appointments and alarms.

I’ve never used any other calendar–went to my first Palm directly from my Day Runner.

I recognize that I may be asking the impossible, but would appreciate any ideas.

Worried now…

Thank you ever so for finding that! It looks scary and I’m not sure I have the knowledge/skill to do it. I will have to study it for a while.

I did something like this many years ago. It’s not really that hard, just a few distinct steps.

I did some further searching leaping off from your link and found this, which looks simpler (I don’t feel adept at the command prompt environment).
