I’ll won’t condemn her for John Eidsmoe - I have family, friends, and co-workers who hold some bizarre beliefs and I don’t consider myself responsible for them.
But Steve Wilkins is on Bachmann. She posted his book on her recommended reading list and that, to me, is an official endorsement of Wilkins’ views.
Today Bachmann says she took a job at the IRS in order to “know her enemy”. She worked there for 4 years after she went to school to become a tax attorney. She took 2 1/2 years off for pregnancies and birth. So she took big advantage of the generous benefit package.
Good grief does she lie a lot.
Maybe she just needs to put a positive spin on her past:
"Hello, I’m Michele Bachman. I was raised on government money that my family collected. I was educated in public schools by government money. I became a lawyer at a college funded by government money. I worked as a professional bureaucrat for government money. I am a professional politician who manages government money.
I stand here before you as living proof of how government money is misspent."
Did anyone else see that she is promising $2/gallon gas if she is elected? I have to wonder how she thinks she could possibly fulfill this promise (obviously, being a politician she probably doesn’t plan to worry about it).
She probably believes the story about how there’s more oil in Alaska than there is in Saudi Arabia. So she’s probably figuring that all she’ll have to do is abolish the silly environmental rules against drilling in the ANWR and cheap American oil will flood the market.
Speaking of which, I haven’t checked myself, has anyone spotted some faux-Bachmann porn videos yet? Seems to me at a comparable point in Palin’s rise to fame, there were several circulating.
Is Michele less pornable? Less famous? Or am I not looking in the right places?
I don’t think Bachmann has quite reached Palin levels yet. Palin pretty much came onto the national scene when she was named as a Vice Presidential candidate. Bachmann at this point is still only seeking the Presidential nomination. Porn producers don’t want to get burned like all those guys who were stuck with Fred Thompson porn last time.
Okay, so far on all the Bachmann threads on this board, I do not remember any poster pointing out one good quality about this political wretch.
Economy? Unemployment? Equal rights?
I expect any female candidate to support the constitution more than any man ever would. To me, she’s more inclined to bring back her version of “Pleasantville”'or “Bachmannville” simply because that’s the version of (television) life she prefers.
This woman is not a candidate for any American person, female or male.
Would she be able to do that? I know it works well for her to say she wants to cut spending to reduce the deficit when she’s in opposition. In the same way it works well for small dogs to lunge ferociously at large dogs safe in the knowledge that there is a fence that prevents them from achieving anything.
If she got into office, how could she make meaningful cuts without causing an outcry amongst her own base?
