The thought of Bachman even thinking about the White House scares me spitless.
Well, she won’t need the Secret Service – she’ll just dart from bush to bush.
I think she’s also made noises about running for Amy Klobuchar’s Senate seat, but she must know she can’t win a statewide election (and Klobuchar is popular within the state anyway, unlike Bachmann).
Her ego won’t let her be content with her little House seat, but she’s not politically viable for anything outside of a stacked local district. I have a suspicion that she wants to be Palin’s running mate. She has the exact same fan base, so I’d be surprised if she really wanted to go toe to toe with her (as much as we would enjoy the tard fight). She’d alienate her own base too much. My guess is that she just wants to get her name out there for consideration.

I thought this thread was going to be about Chick tracts, but I guess that would have been HAW HAW HAW.
There is already an anti-Palin group (www.primariesforpalin.com) pointing out that:
- in many Republican primaries only a few thousand votes determined the winner,
- in polls, Palin is the Republican who does worst against Obama,
- on the Democratic side, Obama is unlikely to have any serious competition.
So they are encouraging Democrats to vote in Repubican Primaries, supporting Palin. As a way to help get Obama re-elected.

The easiest way for a politician to get publicity is to announce that he or she is contemplating a presidential run. Then you get all kinds of face time on TV and lots of interviews.
She’s got to know that her chances of becoming president are about 1/10 those of Palin, who in turn has about a 1/1000 chance of becoming President.
On the other hand, politicians like her live in a bubble of sycophants, and she raised an amazing amount of money in the last election cycle. If she’s still sitting on that money, this might be a way for her to hang onto it by creating a PAC for her potential campaign. A PAC full of money gives Bachmann power and influence she can use.
She’s obviously ambitious, though. She formed a Tea Party Caucus in the House despite no one really asking her to do so.
You got past the first hurdle in her name, and correctly used only one l in Michele. Unfortunately, you stumbled on the second hurdle, and missed the extra n in Bachmann.
The first hurdle is the harder one, tripping up even whoever filed the paperwork for “Michelle PAC” for her.
