An action that surprises absolutely nobody.
Bachman is batshit crazy thinking she could be a candidate, much less get elected.

Yes, but her entertainment value kept it interesting.
With her, Perry, Trump and Palin gone, the only real entertainment left is Newt and Paul.
I think Santorum will continue to be interesting. If the Perry and Bachmann supporters go to Santorum (which is more likely than them going to Romney) he could manage to drag out the nomination process quite a while. Romney has been stuck at 25% since the beginning of the campaign; with the crazy Tea Party conservative candidates narrowing down Santorum’s share of the votes will only rise (until Romney’s PAC comes down hard on him, probably in SC/FL).

People should know when they are defeated.
Sad that we’re in 2012 and a woman still has no real say in getting elected, unless she is the wife of someone, or hand picked for the token VP.
Women need to find a strong candidate.
It’s only a matter of time.
One of the things we learned in 2008 was that women are going to vote on the issues, not on gender. And it’ll happen sooner or later. I’ve gone on the SDMB record as predicting it for 2016, mostly because nobody has any idea what’ll happen in 2016 and on the off chance I’m right, it’ll look brilliant.
Hillary running and winning in 2016 is not much of a stretch, although she’ll be, what, 70 years old? Granted, there’s plenty of time for some other female candidate to emerge.
In news that is slightly surprising, Rick Perry has not dropped out. Looks like he’s headed to South Carolina.
Warren in '16!
I said the next president will be Bev Perdue, who was elected governor of North Carolina in 2008. I don’t think Clinton is going to run in 2016.
I can see why he thinks he’d do better there, but I’m not sure why he thinks it’ll matter.
Hear, hear! She would very easily have my vote. I don’t think Hillary lost because of her gender, she lost because she could not bring herself to recant her vote to authorize Bush’s war of choice. Take Iraq out of the 2008 equation, and Hillary very likely wins the White House. Bachmann didn’t lose because of her gender, she lost because of her vapid performance in the debates. There is more to running for president than calling the incumbent names, which is about all Michele was capable of.
You’re right… Michelle Obama in 2016.
I’m not sure that Michele Bachman is a woman.
I’m honestly not sure she’s a carbon-based lifeform, for that matter.
The man’s a dunce. The writing on the wall is not enough for him; he needs to be slapped in the face with it like a big smelly fish.
Did he back off the reassessment of his campaign after Bachmann dropped out? Perhaps he believes her demise will benefit him. Like I said: dunce.
The problem with the writing on the wall is that you have to read it. That’s not Rick Perry’s thing.
Between her and Marcus I’m sure they have enough estrogen to make one woman.
Like Marley said, I can also see why he thinks he’ll do better there. He probably will do better in the Southern states. But, also like Marley said, I can’t see that it will matter. Maybe he thinks Bachmann will endorse him and he can pick up her 3 votes.
So the Batshit Bachmann comes to some kind of sense.
Has anyone ever asked her that if a god (especially Yahweh) wanted to endorse a candidate, it would never be a woman?
Women like her, O’Donnell, Pelosi should never get the spotlight. They ruin it for women qualified for a government position.
Elect me, and I’d make sure that anyone who voted for Bachmann for anything would lose the right to vote and the kids go to child services.
I would become an illegal immigrant casting an illegal vote (thus helping to rationalize all those vapid Republican fears) if it could be for her.
