The “on this day” segment on the radio this morning mentioned that John F Kennedy was born on 29 May 1917 and that today would have been his 90th birthday.
That would be a neat trick, considering today’s only 27 May.
Whereabouts in the world are you that it’s still 27 May?
What do you mean would have? Don’t you know he was kept alive in a secret lab by the CIA? Or at least, his brain was.
He is simply waiting for the right moment to return.
In some kind of dream world evidently. :o
I just realized it’s the 28th.
Carry on.
Fair enough. I’ve been there too at times.
Now that it’s officially May 29, I will mention that I met his mother 42 years ago today. It’s easy for me to remember because she wrote under his photograph “48 today.” Then she inscribed it to me and “with Best Wishes, Rose Kennedy.”
Members of his family were at the Peabody campus to break ground for a Kennedy Center building that had to do with those with learning disabilities.
There is no way to think of Jack Kennedy as a old man.
This means that my mother would have turned 90 yesterday – a thought that I totally didn’t process.
Given his multiple maladies, I don’t think he would’ve made this far.
It’s weird, though, wondering what the rest of his life (and our country) would’ve been like had he survived.
JfK resides today, at a secret clinic in the midwest. He has had only low level functioning, since the 1963 assassination attempt. fan mail can be addressed to:

Rest in peace, Jack. A statesman and a great, inspiring leader, for all his faults. Hard to believe it’s been so long.
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”
Yup. From what I’ve read, he wouldn’t have gotten into a second term anyway; he knew that if he didn’t run for President then, he’d never be able to.
What would JFK’s second term be like? probably disaster and scandal. The Vietnam war would have blown up in his face, and his troubles with jackie would have made the press. I predict the democratic party would be seriously split-maybe the Southern democrats would have switched parties.
yes, JFK’s second term would have been a disaster.
So there’s a conspiracy angle I haven’t seen yet…they offed him because he was going to die anyway, so they set up a “leftist” to do it and keep the Cold War in business.
Speaking of conspiracies, this totally freaked me out yesterday. My parents bought me this book, Presidential Doodles for my birthday. While looking through the fairly large Kennedy section, I came across a page on which Kennedy had doodled quite a bit, but what jumped right out at me was the spot where he doodled “9-11” over and over and over. Right next to that he wrote “conspiracy” and underlined it. Freaked me right the hell out.
Then I read the caption, which explained that at the time he was sweating out a committee vote in the Senate that was coming down 11-9. He had also doodled 11-9 on the page but of course what jumped out at me was 9-11.
