I’m creating this poll, just because I’m curious: how many undecided voters are there on the SDMB? My guess is very, very few. Let’s see.
If you’re somewhere between “probably voting for X” and “completely undecided,” please pick “completely undecided at this time” and explain below.
I vote for Obama over any Republican or Tea Party person you cane to name.
Obama would really have to screw something up for me to consider voting for whatever special ed student the Republicans nominate.
I’m definitely voting for whoever is not Obama. Whether that’s the Republican candidate or some other party remains to be seen.
Independant and undecided. But my main guideline for cadidates started with “rat fuck the moral majority” for Carter-Reagan, and has since matured to also include the “more fiscally responsible.” This means Obama is probably my only choice unless a real maverick comes out of the woodwork with a decent chance and upholding my two core values.
There is no way on this planet I’d vote for any Republican. Not until they kill every one of their nutters. I wouldn’t vote for a third-party candidate for president under any circumstances, because all that would do, should they get elected, is unite both parties against them in Congress. I’m not happy with Obama, but he’s light-years ahead of anybody else.
As I have said many times, not every Republican is a bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, illiterate asshole - but every bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, illiterate asshole IS a Republican.
I agree that Obama is not perfect - I wish he would really kick some ass and have hopes he might just do that once he gets re-elected and has nothing more to lose - but he is currently the best person for the job of President of the United States, and he gets my vote. Give me that ballot now.
This, x1,000,000
I’d vote for Obama over any of the Republicans who appear likely to get nominated.
Right now I haven’t the foggiest idea who I will be voting for in 2012. But I am paying a lot of attention to what is being done and said in the political arena. It’s all very interesting.
If I could vote I’m certainly voting for the GOP.
I’m undecided between voting for the Republican and not voting at all, and which way I go depends on who is nominated for the GOP. If Palin or Bachmann get the nomination, I’m not voting because they’re sure to be as useless as Obama is, so I’d rather sit an election out than take partial responsibility for insighting their first term or Obama’s second.
Except for Fred Phelps and most black and Hispanic bigots/racists/sexists/homophobes/xenophobes/illiterates/
I will be voting Republican presuming a real Republican wins the nomination rather than the phony last time.
How was John McCain a phony?
I put “definitely Obama” but I’m speaking theoretically because I’m not eligible to vote. I did contribute to the campaign, though.
Hypothetically, I would support a socially liberal Republican candidate over Obama. Realistically, there aren’t any.
There are. But I have chosen not to run.
As always there’s a missing option.
Not sure, but I’m pretty sure it will be a vote against Obama, which may or may not be a vote for a Republican.
There’s always the chance I won’t vote. Usually I ask for an absentee ballot in person, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to do that in 2012.
Agreed. I wouldn’t vote for a Republican for President or anything else even if they agreed on me on every single issue, simply because the party as a whole is so amoral and maniacal that I oppose giving it even the slightest shred more of power or influence.
And realistically, it would split the vote like Nader did and ensure that the opposite of the big Two gets in.
