Just wondering, because the more I regard this fucked-up field spouting hateful nonsense I wonder who can support such a choice.
As an independent, I can’t say I’ve agreed with every decision Obama has made (indefinite detention being a biggie), but I do think he’s been an excellent president so far. Easily one of the top ten. I’ll be voting for him again.
I picked “Other” only because there was no “Oh, HELL No!” option.
Confused-is this poll just for Repubs?
I have to admit, in 08 I had really good feelings for Obama but thus far he has left me with a feeling of “meh”.
But I’ll take “Meh” over that batshit crazy that is the republican party these days. It’s a shame too. I’ve never been a righty but I at least used to have respect for them. I’m afraid I can’t say that anymore.
Anyone can vote. I’m just curious how many Doper Pubbies are comfortable replacing Obama with Romney/Santorum/OtherPubbieDingbat at this point.
Same question.
Liberal Independent here, and although Obama’s no liberal, regardless what the right says, I’ll be voting for him again.
Other - 'cuz there’s no “inclined” towards Obama, it’s “absolutely” Obama. Without hesitation.
I would not vote for ANY of the current Republican presidential candidates. It doesn’t matter to me who is running on the Democratic ticket at this point. I mean, if the Dems manage to find someone who is more repugnant to me than any of the Pub candidates, I’d have to vote for some independent who had no chance of winning.
Not that it really matters. I’m in Texas, which WILL go for the Republican candidate.
I don’t like any of the Republicans (although Ron Paul might appeal to me a little if he didn’t have such a ‘bitter old man’ vibe), but I really, really, really dislike President Obama, and unfortunately a Republican is really the only viable option if I want to get rid of him. And so the usual “holding my nose” will take place.
Same here. I would never vote for a Republican for any office.
I dislike a lot of what Obama has done, despite voting for him back in 08. Especially things like signing the NDAA.
Unfortunately, every candidate the Republicans have put up scares me, so it looks like Obama is going to get my vote.
For the record, I’m an Independent. If there were a viable 3rd party, or if the Republicans would put up a decent candidate I’d vote for them.
Not that it really matters, since GA is gonna go Republican again this year.
The only think I’d vote any of the Republican candidates for is shark bait.
Other because I don’t have a vote in the U.S. But if I did, I’d vote for Obama ahead of any Republican candidate short of Abe Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt.
Kind of the way I feel. But I’m looking at the Republican candidates and none of them rise to the level of “meh”. So four more for Obama.
I wouldn’t vote for any of the four Republican candidates in the race, so unless the GOP pulls a rabbit out of their hat, it’ll be Obama for me.
You get four votes? I hope they’re in swing states!
The poll would have been better if you included “Obama no matter what”. Because that would have been the clear winner.
Regards,
Shodan
I think you intended this as some sort of gotcha zing against all the Board Liberals, but this is actually true. The Republican debates (and their ridiculous grandstanding over the budget last summer) have established them as the party of the batshit insane with neolithic social policies and disastrous financial policies (spend just as much as the Democrats, but lower the taxes while you do it). Any Republican candidate, even if they nominate someone actually not crazy at a brokered convention, would be expected to uphold these policies.
I am a registered Republican. I consider myself a moderate with libertarian leanings, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. And I am underwhelmed by current slate.
I would have voted for Huntsman.
I might vote for Romney.
I might vote for Paul. Although he is too far Libertarian to actually win, or govern if he did win. And honestly I don’t want him to win, he is too Libertarian for my tastes. But I would like to see the fiscal conservatives to gain ground vs the social conservatives within the party. And a good Paul run would swing things that way.
I probably wouldn’t vote for Newt. I remember the '90s too well. I find him to be personally reprehensible, politically unreliable, and needlessly antagonistic.
I wouldn’t piss on Santorum to put him out if he were on fire. I certainly won’t vote for him.
