Price of Eggs

I usually get my eggs free from the Pig, but I was at Costco and needed eggs.

Quick, you love in a big city so you can make lots of money and be able to afford those $2 eggs. And, you get your choice of dozens of movies later that Saturday, after you eat those eggs.
Many chefs say that eggs are better after resting for a few days. I agree.
Peace,
mangeorge

I betcha there’s a much dirtier version of that joke floating around somewhere.

Probably because you can find a job that enables you to pay $2 for eggs while you would have trouble finding a job so you could pay $1 out where the eggs are laid.

Heh. That theory would work so much better if I wasn’t unemployed and ineligible for unemployment benefits. :stuck_out_tongue: But I do get great theater and restaurants right outside my front door, practically, and the window displays this time of year are fabulous.

Will try to cite, but several studies show that egg consumption does not lead to an increase in one’s cholesterol levels. Eggs have taken a beating because they are relatively high in cholesterol, but some believe that other factors prevent the cholestoral from being absorbed.

Eggs have gotten some new life outta the low-carb craze.

One or two eggs daily will not change your cholesterol. Food that are high in cholesterol do not, necessarily, raise your cholesterol. Food high in saturated fats and trans fats do. In addition, eggs contain lecithin which helps the body eliminate excess cholesterol.

Lecithin

The chickens are members of the same union I am…

Ya know what they call slow horses in Kentucky?
(hamburger)
Seriously, though;
Most people can’t name even one city in Kentucky! :smack:
I know Lewvul.
I had a good buddy in the Navy from Kentucky.
Sorry. Back to your regularly scheduledm program.

Yes, Eggs are often a loss leader around Missouri. But the eggs are never more than a $1.00/dz for Grade A large. Jumbos and Brown eggs occasionly are more than a $1.00/dz. I have lived in Mississippi and Tennessee and I dont ever remember paying more than $1/dz for eggs

I still can’t believe how y’all can get such cheap eggs. I live not 80 miles from where modern egg production was invented.

That’s it. I’ve had it with California. Expensive eggs are the last straw! <throws hat>

Bubbye.
Drop us a note when you get back.
I’m kidding. I wish more people who can’t stand it here would go someplace they find preferable.
G’by, young hen. Davis is only 80 miles from Berkeley?

Enjoy Berkeley, Mangeorge

I was thinking Petaluma as the cradle of the egg industry. Something I heard from my professors but can’t verify over teh interweb just now.

LOTS of eggs are produced all over the state, mostly in Southern Cali. Don’t know much about egg production in other states. Maybe it’s cheaper there or maybe California’s been outstripped in egg production. California still makes half the country’s fruits and veggies, though. Rock.

Yeh. I was making a funny about the fabulous Berkeley Farms, of dairy fame. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh yeah.

<vaguely remembers rows of Berkeley milk cartons at the store, passing Berkeley milk trucks at least twice a week, seeing dairies in Berkeley>

meh, they ains’t chickens.

Promise to get the joke faster next time.

</dilbert> Eggs are basically cheese that comes from chickens.</dilbert>
