It just occurred to me that Michael Jackson and Prince were exactly the same age. I don’t know why that seems strange to me. What was I expecting? That Prince would be older? Younger? I have no idea what I was thinking.

WHAT actual proof? Provide a cite. Because, despite my proximity to Illinois, there’s been nothing official about him having an OD on the TV, radio, or local papers. Please provide evidence.
I worked for four years at a methadone clinic and met thousands of opiate addicts. The clinic detoxed many of them, from slow detox to (upon request) cold turkey. Opiate withdrawal is miserable but, unless there is some other underlying problem, almost never fatal. It’s the OD that is most likely to cause vomiting, not the withdrawal, and you don’t have to be having a seizure to inhale vomit. Seizures are rare with opiate withdrawal (although if Prince had a history of seizures - which he did state he had as a child - that makes it a bit more likely), much more likely to occur with benzodiazepine or alcohol withdrawal.
If you won’t take my word for it, take Qadgop the Mercotan’s words on opiate withdrawal - he’s an MD, some of his current caseload are addicts, and he has personal experience with opiate withdrawal.
But I await your proof that Prince’s plane diverted because he was actively OD’ing.
What’s yours? There have been times I’ve been to a pharmacy multiple times per week and opiates weren’t involved. Nowhere does this article say what he was there for (nor should it, if the pharmacists are obeying privacy laws). TMZ is pushing the “drug addict” theory but all they have is speculation and rumor, no proof.
Who the frack are these “sources”. Seriously, a “save shot”? A reputable medical person, and even some of us civilians, know that the name of the medication is “Narcon”, or more precisely naloxone. If that’s even what was in this hypothetical shot. There are other medications that might be injected into someone having a medical emergency.
The Milwaukee coroner, an actual official, made a very public statement yesterday that the autopsy - and official medical examination by a qualified professional - found no sign of trauma and nothing to indicate it was a suicide. Here, have a link. The TMZ rumors are repeated but the actual airport spokesman declined to identify the airplane or patient, which is how privacy is supposed to work.
The only source pushing the OD/drugs story is TMZ. Given that they live on scandal and rumor perhaps we should consider that they might have a negative bias.
I was just rewatching his superbowl show. He does the same thing there. So maybe there’s a reason, maybe it’s just a thing he does, but it wasn’t just a one off thing.
I haven’t watched/rewatched all his other stuff, but I’d be willing to bet if you did, you’d find him doing it other times as well.
Hm. That might be the best answer we get. By the way, in the HoF clip he does it at least twice in about 10 seconds, between 4:25 and 4:35. The first time just a little bit, and the second time completely up and away. And perhaps he did it more than that. When I watch the whole thing again, I’ll try to note it.
That’s why I thought that maybe he was just trying to adjust the strap or how he was holding the guitar. Little bit first…nope the strap is still snagged on my collar, try lifting it all the way up. Something like that.
But here you can see him do it around 1:19, again after that as he’s walking away from the camera and again at 1:55. There may be more, those are just the couple that I saw.
