Prince Harry to marry Meghan Markle

And the drama begins…

This is continuing drama for the Princess Michael, she’s a vocal racist.

The shortened link says “princess-mi”. Oh let me guess who that is.

Yep, it’s who I thought. She’s just a bit too grand for the royal family, really.

However there is a more than decent chance that the Obamas will get invited since Harry has seemed to have formed a personal friendship with Barrack.

And in just 6 months time Princess Michael will be obliged to curtsy before Princess Harry.

Rarely has the crack of a knee been so eagerly anticipated.

For a short while last night, the Princes Michael’s Wiki page described her as ‘half-caste - half Nazi, half hairdresser’.

Would Meghan be the Princess Henry, since that’s the given name that spawned Harry’s nickname? I can’t think of another example. Was Elizabeth, the Queen Mother known as the Princess Albert after her marriage to the future King George?

Their closeness is due in great part to their mutual and tireless devotion to the cause of wounded soldiers reintegrating successfully after their military service.

I read that they expected people might call her Princess Meghan, but that doing so would be incorrect. Her title will likely be Duchess of Sussex since Sussex is available bla bla bla.

Regardless, she’s a beautiful princess.

Why does she get to be called “Princess”?

She’s married to a Prince. She isn’t Princess Marie.

Royal styles are a funny thing. Not of royal blood, not Prince/Princess; they’ll still be Her Royal Highnesses or (HRH) but not Princess Wife Name. To cite a famous example, Diana wasn’t Princess Diana, either.

Oh, OK. But then why does he get to be a Prince? He’s 45th in line to the throne, so are there at least 44 other Princes out there?

His father was a son of King George V.

No, there are people ahead of him in the line of succession who aren’t prince(ss)es because they’re more distantly related to a monarch, but are from more senior lines of descent. For example, his older brother’s children and grandchildren come before him in the line of succession (the non-Catholic ones do, at least), but great-grandchildren of a monarch aren’t princes or princesses (except for the children of the oldest son of a Prince of Wales).

Well it looks like a local official made a bit of an ass of himself on Twitter over the royal wedding.

I’m reminded of something the “Newsreader” would pronounce in the HBO series Rome:

*The auspicious wedding of the nobleman Gaius Harry Windsorus to Meghan Marklus will be held on the Kalends. No prostitution! No Gambling! No begging and no homeless people will be tolerated! Slaves and Freedmen are NOT invited. *

It’s common to tidy up the city before big events with World Wide press coverage.

Look at the host cities for the Olympics. A lot of money was spent making them attractive and crime free as possible during the event.

They won’t go quite that far for a royal wedding. But I’d expect more police presence and the streets temporarily cleared before the big event.

It is pretty stupid for any official to comment about preparation plans on Twitter.

Well it looks the UK’s getting another royal wedding this year; Princess Eugenie is marrying her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, this October. Which means assuming he’s still alive Prince Phillip is going to have to be in the same room at the same with Sarah, Duchess of York. Talk about awkward.

Yeah, but that room is a church and I doubt Philip will be around any small talk opportunities. They’ll take family photos and he’ll go do something that he does enjoy.

Color me confused. I know Sarah may not be popular with some of the royals, but why should the Duke of Edinburgh and the former Duchess be particularly at odds?

I wondered that too, so I Googled “Prince Philip Sarah Ferguson”. The first link was the winner.

About twenty years ago, he was asked about her in an interview (there were already rumors about his attitude), he said “Her behaviour was a bit odd. But I’m not vindictive. I don’t see her because I don’t see much point.”

That’s pretty understated, but compared to what the family usually says on the record about interpersonal relations (nothing), it was practically thermonuclear.
