Prince Williams hair. Should he shave it?

I think he should just cut it a little shorter.

I’m balding about like the prince. I alternate my look. Sometimes I wear my hair and beard, both buzzed to about a #1-1/2 or #2 guard. Sometimes I shave my head and wear a full goatee. In the first case, I like to think I look like Jason Statham (I don’t). In the second, I don’t think I really look much like Walter White (but apparently I do*). I suppose at some level I do pick my hair styles to try to look cool.

*It’s amazing how many college-aged people here in Columbia MO stop me to tell me I look like Walter White when I shave my head. I’m middle aged and have crow’s feet, and I happen to wear glasses that look a lot like Walter’s. When the attractive 20-something woman at the sandwich place told me I looked “bad-ass” the other day, it did kind of make my day though. Especially since I am about as far from “bad ass” as you can get.

I don’t know about shaving, but I’d do something different with it. In the still pictures it doesn’t look as bad but on video it makes him look a lot older than 32 the way it is.

He looks fine. Who cares. Personally I’m pretty over the ‘shave the head the second it goes a little thin on top’ thing. Looks fine on some guys and doofy on others. I know some guys who I’d much rather see their thinning hair than the entire chrome dome when I KNOW they still have half a head of hair there.

Shaved-before-bald looks good on my friend who is a tough little weight lifter and professional house painter. He personally would look silly with a half head of hair.

But on the prince, it looks fine. Looks fine on most guys who wear a suit to work. I’m sure it looks fine on plenty of little house painters, too.

Shaved isn’t for everyone!

No, actually, it didn’t work for Gallagher at all.

Query: Several posters have pointed out that his wife is hot as hell. Why is this relevant?

Like, a yarmulke?

I think he should buzz it. Not shaved bald, but maybe half an inch long. I like that look on balding guys much better than the horseshoe.

Two days after he shaved it it would become perfectly seemly :). Personally I think he should close crop it then have a go at growing the traditional royal beard of Europe.

Isn’t he still technically in the army? I’m sure there’s some short-hair regulation he could enforce on himself as an excuse for shaving it.

And where’s the option for “damn you, I’ve got Let It Go stuck in my head again after reading your options”?

Yep, and if he did shave it, he would have to grow the goatee, and wear a pair of Oakley sunglasses.

It’s interesting how the overwhelming majority of the narrative responses to this thread have been for him to keep it but the poll shows a nearly even split.

51 posts and not one “Do you have Prince William in a can?” joke. There’s got to be one in there somewhere.

FWIW, I live in an entire town of shavers - my neighborhood seems to be entirely 40ish+ professionals with extreme balding who just polish the dome. Being rather exorbitantly shaggy myself is good for a chuckle now and then.

Answer: One does not equal several.

I didn’t vote because he shouldn’t shave it or grow it. Keep it as it is, or cropped a bit neater, wasn’t an option.

Why not get hair plugs and restore his hair? He’s got the money.

Or do one of those permanent wig things like hair club for men pitches. The kind that he can swim in, go running etc.

I think he looks just fine. Yeah, he’s losing his hair. That’s what happens to some of them.

How about a periwig? It worked for that other William

Has there been a bald king before? Edward VII? Henry VIII?

Well, there was this guy, but I assume you mean an English King.

That might be my new favorite disambiguation note on Wikipedia.
