Someone has set Star Wars to the music of the Beatle’s Sgt Pepper album. And did a damn fine job of it.
I discovered this just in time to share for May the Fourth.

“Luke is in the Desert” is a highlight.
When someone shared the first double-track on Facebook, I was absolutely delighted. That’s the only word I can think of for how it feels to listen to this…delightful. And then I realized they’d redone the WHOLE FREAKING ALBUM! And delightful seems way too sedate.
Wow, very impressive.
Love it.
In 20 years of filking I’ve never seen such uniform quality of parody. Good job!
I love this!
Ironically, I listened to Sgt. Pepper earlier today, and am going through the Star Wars trilogy.
omg, “He’s Leaving Home” had me teary eyed.
Same here. I thought it was just a Sgt. Pepper parody. Then I saw the whole album, listened, and was blown away.
“One, two, Yavin IV!”
That was my thought. It’s genuinely amazing work fitting the story (almost perfectly chronologically) to an existing song this well. Great rhymes, jokes, and references, all perfectly matched to the rhythm of the song.
That is what impressed me so much.
I believe I only hit two or three points where it was obvious they needed to stretch to fit the rhyme, meter or story.
Agreed. I thought it would be a brief, amusing lark, but I was totally immersed and watched all the videos straight through. Clearly an enormous labor of love, with wit and humor and musical chops. Gave me a smile all through the day!
It really is good!
Wonder how much time it took, and how many people worked on it. It’s got good playing. That’s not some kid and his buddies recording in a garage.
There’s levels of cleverness, too. Some of the sampled dialog really fits, really adds to the songs.
“Weird” Al would love this. It’s not just cheaply re-worked songs. It’s quality parody lyrics.
Illicit help from your friends made me roll on the floor.
Curse them! I think I’m going to hear that every time I listen to Sgt Pepper now.
NPR has a story.
Yes, it’s pretty damn good.
OMG!
And here I skipped by this thread a number of times before curiosity got the better of me.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry tears of joy! Well, I’m doing both now, and at work!
For informational purposes: I downloaded the mp3s from their website. The album comes to 40:10 in length, only 20 seconds longer than the original Sgt. Pepper album.
I hate Within You Without You so much I can’t even listen to the parody version.
