Prison Break Canceled: Fringe Coming Back For Another Season

You can read the story in the Hollywood Reporter here.

The good news is that Prison Break will air the last four episodes, plus maybe an additional episode or two to wrap it up neatly. Can’t say I am sorry to see the show leave…it has started to slip into even more silliness of late (if that is possible), but glad to see they are not just dumping it without a final send off.

Still not all that sure how much I like Fringe…watch it, but not all that wild about it and if I miss an episode, no big deal. Crazy scientist is a bit predictably nuts and his quirks are more annoying than cute/coy/endearing.

I won’t miss Prison Break much after its gone, but I’ll be watching those last episodes. But it’ll be plain weird when the final episode ends with an actual ending instead of a twist/set up.

I’m loving Fringe…hasn’t yet soured on me like X-Files did, but I imagine if it lasts as long it’ll find a way.

I’ve never seen Prison Break, but I do watch Fringe, which is a little too X-Fileish for me to really fall in love with. I’m already sick of The Pattern, whatever that’s supposed to be, and the redhead who runs MegaHugeCorp, or Microsoft, or whatevertheheck the name of that company is. The quirky dad is annoying, and I’m counting the episodes until the son and the blond agent inevitably get together. Astrid is cute (plus I love the name Astrid), but she’s pretty much a one-dimensional character. Everything else is filler. I predict the show will simply end at some point with loose ends flailing all over the place and nothing resolved. Yep, like X-Files.

Did they run out of prisons to break out of? 'Bout time if you ask me.

I am well and truly amazed that they got as much mileage out of the concept that they did.

I can’t believe it, Fox got one right!

Good job…yeah, Prison Break has gotten pretty silly.

I did enjoy season 3, but season 4 has been kinda painful since I dislike Rapaport intensely. His scenery chewing and mannerisms always pull me out of the scene as he always make me feel how much he’s trying to act, but never succeding

Hey…anyone wanna spoil it for me? I’ve watched up to the end of episode 16 (I think)…the one where Linc threatens mummy that he’s gonna get her, just after Michael escapes from bad guys at the farm…

Walter is not annoying, Walter is the second best character on television right now (behind Charlie on Sunny). I just love the way he talks and the stuff that comes out of his mouth. The rest of the show is meh for me, so maybe they’ll have a spinoff that’s just Walter. That would rule.

I’ve been saying it from the beginning - the finale of season 2 should have been the series finale, with the last 5 minutes left on the cutting room floor. I imagine that WAS the original plan, before FOX got greedy and realized the show’s ratings were too high to NOT bring it back. I didn’t watch season 3 out of principle, and I was utterly SHOCKED that it made it to a 4th season.

Good news about Fringe. It’s about time we got a show with a fictionalized Tim Leary as the main character.

I only saw one episode of Fringe so far…but I hated it. I thought it was badly written.

I am glad Fringe was renewed, but I thought that was a given, considering it was winnng its timeslot in the crucial 18-49 age group (even though *The Mentalist *had more total viewers.)

Which episode? I think it makes quite a difference, as there have been a few really good ones and a couple bad ones.

By the way, it’s not officially renewed yet. If it does terrible following American Idol, they could still cancel it.
