Merle Haggard was a prisoner at San Quentin and saw the Cash shows. I think he may have played some prison concerts but I am not sure.

The Sex Pistols played at Chelmsford Prison. I’m told the quasi-bootleg albums of the performance have dubbed-in rowdiness from the audience, which in actuality was quite sedate.
Kathy Griffin (The D List) did her stand up act in a prison last season that was quite funny.
