Private Drug dogs

There is a private company that, for a fee, will bring a drug dog into your house, to search for drugs.

They are franchising.

A parent will generally use this “service” to see if a child is harboring drugs.

My point is, should private companies be able to do this?

And where do they get the dogs?
Are private entities allowed to use illegal drugs for training the dogs?

Or do the Police help? (haha)

Is this corporate Big Brotherism?

I think this is Bullshit!

Maybe I posted this in the wrong forum,

The private companies who train and rent out these dogs are probably the very same private companies who train the dogs to sell to police, so that’s where they get their drugs.

While I’m strictly opposed to any measure that makes the WoD worse than it already is, I don’t see why private drug dogs should be illegal. Picture this scenario : unbeknownst to you, your teenage son starts selling dope. The cops raid your house and find some pot. They can confiscate your house now and it’s up to you to sue the government to get it back, whether your son is convicted or not. Wouldn’t you like to run that doggie through the house and find junior’s stash before the cops do.

Hell, I’d like to rent one just so I could figure out the proper packaging techniques to prevent those little devils from finding my stash

Thanks Klaatu for mentioning this.

As a parent I must confess that I would consider even purchasing such a pooch for the very reasons Neutron mentioned in ¶2.

I think that this topic belongs in General Questions, so that’s where I’m moving it.
