Your point? Last time I checked, Aspergers doesn’t give a person a license to be a dick. (Unless you’re explaining why he sometimes sounds older than he is, rather than try to excuse his behavior)
I suppose it is all too easy to comment negatively about our board’s resident adolescent fundie, but in deference to all I can only comment that at least the young guy didn’t choose the moniker, Buck Turgidson.
That, my friends, would be an affront to all sapient life.
No, he wasn’t.
This is a great example of the down side of the Internet. Back when I were a whippersnapper, we learned when things were appropriate to say and when things weren’t by the only method teenage boys understand - the infliction of pain.
An acquaintance of mine discovered that even if one believes strikes are harmful to the economy and should be outlawed, one does not loudly opine in a London pub when sat next to two striking dockers that all strikers are lay abouts and the police should force them back to work. That way leads to being taken outside and given a kicking.
Similarly, I learned that commenting to a friend in another pub on the hotness of a particular woman in less than chivalrous can be painful if her husband is stood directly behind me as I make the remarks.
The internet, however, isolates you from the consequences of the inevitable teenage stupidity. You can call someone and his wife a murderer when they are in the middle of a traumatic experience, because you know you are safely anonymous and immune from the response you’d get if you did it to someone in person.
You know, I’ve got to doubt that this Board skews as far left as some say, if the basic response around here is “I don’t believe the fundies indoctrinate their brightest children to be as obnoxious as **Curtis **appears to be.”
I’m liberal and I do think that the fundamentalists indoctrinate their children. I just don’t think that they educate them to Curtis’s level.
Is anyone else chuckling at the fact that Curtis went out into the big bad world of other message boards and was apparently scared back here because they were too anti-fundie?
It doesn’t matter a flea’s fart if the OP of the other thread was anguished or not. I don’t give a fuck if to him and his wife, getting an abortion was a mildly annoying regular expense, like getting an oil change.
Well, you get coupons and stuff for oil changes.
I’ve followed his other threads and I’ve no doubt he’s 14. Besides, if he was a troll he would still be here defending his position. The very fact that he ran away when he got spanked confirms his age in my opinion. I think he’s just starting to understand the contradictory nature of trying to justify the myths of the bible with the real world.
He usually sticks around to defend his positions. Maybe he’s in summer school or something.
VBS, perhaps?
Visual Basic Script?
Vexing Bowel Syndrome?
Really? I notice he, more and more often, doesn’t bother to return or doesn’t respond to much, when he does.
Vacation Bible School.
Vacation Bible School.
I had an abortion a little less than two weeks ago. I was five weeks and one day pregnant. Which means the fetus was, according to site posted earlier, the size of a sesame seed, and looked more like a tadpole than a human. Not that it matters to me, honestly. I knew if my birth control failed what I would do, and I called the clinic less than an hour after taking the pregnancy test. By then end of the week it was dealt with. But, had I not thought about it ahead of time, or not had cash reserves, it might have taken longer to get up there and I would have been further along.
I have not had one moment of regret, or remorse. I am utterly and completely unrepentant. Hell, the only moment of hesitation I had was wondering if I should wait, because I was going on vacation soon, and I wanted to be able to go swimming (the clinic workers said it wouldn’t interfere, and it didn’t, and I had a blast).
So, Curtis, if you want to blast someone, blast me. Call me any name you can think of. Lay it on me! I can take it; I really don’t give a shit what a 14 year old fundamentalist moron thinks (and yes, you are one). Put all that pent up rage on me, and leave those people struggling through this on the other board alone.
Hi, Curtis. Just for the record, Jesus never said a word about abortion (actually, abortion is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible).
Jesus DID say this:
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Mt. 7:1-13
I believe he also said something about only those without sin being able to cast stones.
If you’re going to follow the word of Jesus, follow it all the way.

To add to what Jesus said- yes, he did say to go all over the place and evangelize, but he also said that if you tell people about him and they’re not interested, you should leave them the fuck alone and he’ll deal with them later.
I was beginning to wonder whatever happened to Curtis LeMay, seeing how he had dropped off this board for about a month.
Seriously though, when are you going to learn that a silly old book does not have the secret truth about absolute morality? How about, y’know, actually critically thinking about what effects your actions have?
My father’s 75, and he hasn’t learned that about the Bible yet.
Okay, two things. First, the mod note I gave to Guinastasia is reversed. My mistake on that, I had a brain fart on how the rule against telling other posters to fuck themselves was worded. My apologies to Guin.
Secondly, I’ve removed the link from Curtis’s OP. Although the odds of starting a fight between posters here and posters there is pretty low (as everyone seems to be on the same page as far as Curtis goes) we still want to avoid the possibility of a board war. I’ve talked with gfactor, and we’ve decided to leave the thread open, so you can continue to kick Curtis around for expecting any sympathy from the SDMB on this topic.

Nice jab.
I agree it’s ugly but you know what, it just might help him to see that the people he holds in somewhat high regard don’t agree with his fundamentalist ways and actions. I’m sure he’s licking his wounds but he’s a bright enough kid that maybe he can learn something from this.
