I completely agree. I don’t expect him to post a smack-head smiley and say, “Noooow I get it!”. But hopefully a few years of this same kind of feedback might help turn him around. The point of my post was let’s not lock this thread just because he’s getting kicked to the curb because of his own actions.

The OP was not labelled a fundamentalist moron because because of his pro-life views. He was given that label because of the way he chose to express those views. The guy on the other message board was doing a basic MPSIMS thread, and Curtis came along and dumped a turd in the thread, making it so much of a trainwreck that it had to be closed. And if we’d had essentially the same situation on the SDMB, I think that we’d have pretty much the same outcome, minus the custom title.
Completely disagree. Having been around unusually intelligent teens for 6 years, I’ve found that they always seem to follow the same pattern: shockingly mature in some areas, shockingly immature in others. Curtis fits the pattern to a T.
Heck, when I was 14, my only obsession was the Sega Genesis (and the Super NES). I can’t believe this Curtis kiddo spews out the lingo of an educated redneck without being a troll.

He fits the Asperger’s thing too. Kids like that can absorb and regurgitate a remarkable amount of information, and they often have a complete tin ear in social situations. They’re oblivious to certain kinds of cues and body language and sometimes just don’t develop normal social graces. For example, someone might give them a birthday prsent they don’t like, but instead of saying something polite or tactful, they just say they don’t like it. It isn’t that they intend to be rude or hurtful, they’re just operating without some of the intuitive social machinery that other people have.
But they are absolutely capable of understanding when they have upset someone. It leads to neurosis in many Aspies because they frequently can’t understand why they’ve upset someone unless that person spells it out in a rational manner.
Curtis doesn’t seek to understand, nor does he even give any real indication that he’s aware he’s pissed people off. He drops a dump on the table then completely refuses to acknowledge it or anyone else’s reaction to it. That’s troll behavior, not Asperger’s behavior.
Oh, I absolutely believe that Curtis is 14. At no other age are people so utterly convinced of their own rightness. There are, in fact, several people around here I believe are 14.

Notice how the penalty for causing a pregnancy to terminate is a fine and not the death penalty. The God of the Old Testament didn’t hesitate to impose death for a huge variety of offenses, including cursing one’s parents and working on the Sabbath, so it speaks volumes that the death penalty is not imposed here.

Since you’re back would you expound a bit on why you think short term abortion is murder? Have you personally read non-biased medical information on the subject or are these the views or your church and/or parents? Do you believe male masturbation is also murder, for example?
I ask these things not to ridicule you but to understand how you formed your ideas/opinions on this issue. I find it strange that you can so easily call a couple of apparently good, caring people murderers and not defend your position on why you feel so (and by that I mean reference a source of some kind rather than saying, “I just think so”.
