Probably my most mundane and pointless post yet:

After years of lacking a decent webpage, I finally got one! And I couldn’t resist the urge to plug it here:

http://www.geocities.com/kinkajou02/

That is the “official” webpage for a little DOS game I’m making called Guggoids (It’s yet another “Asteroids” clone…except I like mine better. >=]). It’s a good site, but the hit count is pathetic. I’m lucky if I get 1 hit a day, because it is not in any search engine directory (to my knowledge) and not linked to any other site (yet). So I decided to plug it here, on MPSIMS.

Yes, it is Geocities. :frowning: I’m kind of ashamed to admit I chose such a stupid provider, but at least I can honestly say that I wrote the HTML myself.

If you do visit the site, I’d REALLY appreciate if people gave me feedback on the webpage and/or the game, and tell me what’s good/bad/what needs improvement.

How’s that for pointless?

The little side thingie on the page is kinda close to the other part thingie. That annoys me for some reason. The font is kinda big too, but I think we can live with that.

And for christ’s sake, get it off geocities! <hisses> stas.net offers free webspace with no banners or popups or anything.

I’ll keep all those things in mind. I might also make the side bar some fancy javascript mouseover image for no reason. Thanks.

Now, did anybody actually play the game? =\

I did but um… well… don’t laugh… I’m too stupid to figure out what I’m actually supposed to do. I just kinda cruised around for a while.

Heh. There’s not much you can do at the moment. The radar on the top-left shows you where you are and where the guggoids are in relation to you, so just go to the guggoids and shoot them a bunch of times (press space). If you press shift, you do the hyperdrive teleport (which I believe is “hyperspace” in the original, but I’m not sure.) I really overdid the special effects for the hyperdrive thing, though.

BTW, no, the game is not done yet.
