Problem with AIM

For some reason the evil program known as AIM decides to sign me on and off every several minutes when I’m not around. As soon as it signs me off it reconnects, within a second. Because of this I lose conversations, messages people have left for when I get back, and makes people think I’m around but ignoring them.

I’m not sure exactly why this is happening, any ideas?

If all else fails, you could use the programme Trillian which combines AIM, MSN Messenger, IRC and ICQ. I’ve used AIM on there before and it’s worked fine.
