Okay, recently, my laptop has been showing some problems with the sound. Since I’ve had it, I’ve not really used the laptop speakers at all. I’ve basically got a minijack running from the headphones-out into a stereo input on the back of my stereo, using my stereo as a big speaker.
In the past week or so, the sound has sounded… dull. Like something’s not quite right. I figured the jack might be going back, so I removed it, and my laptop speakers immediately started making this squealing sound. Then it stopped. However, the sound from the laptop speakers is also dulled. I’m not exactly sure how to explain the “dull” part… it sounds quieter than usual, and as if I was listening through a pillow.
Has my laptop soundcard bitten the dust? If so, is there a cheap(?) method to replace or fix it?
