Problem with Firefox Vs PDF

I need to download an owner’s manual from Uniden’s website. The manual I want is available for download in PDF form. I click the link to download it and Firefox responds with a page that states: “This object has been blocked.”

I’ve downloaded other PDF files; why can’t I download this one and how do I fix things so that I can?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

This also happens with IE, guess it must be ZoneAlarm Pro’s fault.

I hope a mod will close this thread.

Maybe the file is just unavailable.

Can you post the link?

It sounds like a javascript pop-up blocker but we’ll know as soon as you post the URL

Ahh, just read your second post.

It’s a ZoneAlarm problem but you can fix it by opening Zonealarm control center and going to “Program Control” -> “Programs” to stop blocking pdf files.

Why would ZoneAlarm block pdfs? Are there any security issues associated with them?

Some sites perform downloads by putting them in a pop-up box. If pop-up boxes are disabled then you won’t get the download. By going into the privacy settings in ZoneAlarm pro you should be able to get it to work.

I went to the Uniden site and tried to download various manuals and had no problem. There’s a few dealing with scanner programming codes that asked for my email address, but otherwise, I didn’t get a “blocked” message.
