Problem with IE connecting....sometimes

For about 2 weeks now I’ve had this problem. I’ll open IE (or go to a new page) and get the standard “Cannot find Server…No page to Display” error page. Now, normally I would think the internet went down or the flakey router flaked out and needs to be power cycled. BUT I noticed the other computer on the network was fine, my outlook worked and my other network apps worked just fine. It was only IE. So for the moment I went off to do other things and when I came back it worked. Seemed odd, but I forgot about it, for about 15 minutes or so until it happened again. It seems that ever 10 or 15 minutes IE stops working for about five and then goes right back to normal. Any ideas.

Try going to the same site with a different browser, such as Firefox.
If it still doesn’t work, then the problem is at the site, or your internet connection. If it does work, then I’d just use the other browser rather than futzing around trying to figure out what is wrong with IE.

Have you scanned for spyware?

Also make sure you’ve got all the most recent Windows updates and patches.

Adaware updated and run, only windows update waiting in the wing is a malicious software removal tool, so that’s okay (but I’ll dl the windows update and see if that makes a difference). I don’t have another browser, but when IE doesn’t work, it’s not that it’s one site, it’s any webpage I try to get too.

If you can get IE to work long enough for a download, alternate browsers are available here:

Mozilla.com
Opera.com

That’s a possible solution, but at the moment I’d rather figure out what’s wrong with this one first. Not knowing how to use any of the other big browsers out there, it be nice to have on to ‘fall back on’ espcially being at work and all.
