A problem suddenly developed with my computer. Relevant components: Win XP Pro, Athlon XP 2000+, ATI Radeon 8500 AIW. I have a Canon G-3 digital camera that creates small movies in MJPEG format. Media Player in XP has always played them just fine, but suddenly it now plays them at warp speed (maybe 3-4x faster than real time). I can also play these in QT and they play fine there. Also, regular MPEGs, AVIs, etc. play fine with Media Player - it’s just a problem with the movies from my dig camera. Any thoughts as to what I can do to restore functionality in Media Player?
What version of the Media Player are you running ? Try upgrading to Media Player 9.
I was running ver.9, downloaded it again and re-installed. No change. Sheesh, what a stupid problem!
flex ,what is the format of those files ? I can do bit of research and that would help.
To my knowledge they are MJPEG. It’s a format common with the movie mode of digital cameras. I think it’s essentially a series of JPEG stills.
