I live in the boonies in Maine and only get one talk/news station. For the past four weeks all I’ve gotten is what sounds like 3-4 stations all competing and some static. I’ve lived here over 4 years and once in a while the reception has been bad, but this was every night. Now, all of a sudden it is clear as a bell again tonight. we have been having foggy, rainy weather for weeks. Is weather a factor? However, when we have continual snow it hasn’t bothered it. I emailed the station, WVOM, 103.9 in Bangor but they never answered. I thought maybe there was some transmission problem. I went to the FCC site and read the article on interference and it talks mostly about other electronic devices being the source. Nothing in my house has changed. FCC recommended calling the power company to check things out. I never heard of this; do you suppose they might actually come out and hook up some equipment and see what’s up? As I’m sitting here listening to the broadcast I can’t believe that suddenly the station is actually clear. In case anyone is wondering why I’m so irritated about this, this is the ONLY American news/talk station up this way and I listen to it at night when I’m in bed. I’ve been reduced to listening to a Canadian station which is actually further away but is crystal clear. Someone in the past recommended a TV antenna in my attic, but would this help if it is the weather?
